I had been suffering from heal pains, toe pains, etc for a few years and had seen doctors who prescribed painkillers (NSAIDS) which provided temporary relief for those horrible pain. They were telling me that I was having "bunion", "bursitis", etc. I was also referred to Orthopaedic specialists but my gout pains still persisted. In fact, the pain came on more frequently - perhaps due to my diet.

Many of you might not believe it, and others might be very skeptical about it, because beans are known to cause gout and black beans have also been included in the list of "gout food". But, it is true because black bean broth has been tried proven to be very effective in relieving Gout pain and inflammation. I can vouch to that as I tried it myself and found it's effectiveness almost "miraculous" - within hours.

This is definitely not a "sales pitch" to make money, or for any personal gains. I am sharing this for free and without any conditions. I do so because I understand how terrible it is during a gout flareup. I also know there are some gout medications available but most of them cause side effects which affect our body's normal functioning. Black bean is natural and therefore do not cause side effects. Besides, black beans has lots of other health benefits too.

I do recognise that the choice between medication or natural cures is up individual preferences due to personal circumstances and conditions of the ailment. So, the final choice is yours. I must also state that this is not a cure for gout but an effective relief for gout pain and inflammation. How well and effective we are able to manage or control our gout flare-ups depends on many other factors - diet, lifestyle,........... etc.

The method of preparation of black bean broth (shown below) is simple but involves a lengthy slow boil process, so it is advisable to use a timer so you do not end up in a pot of burnt beans.

Preparation of BBB
1. Rinse 200gm (7oz) of dried black beans and remove grits and other debris.
2. Cover with 2 litres of water and boil it for 15 minutes.
3. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 90 minutes.
4. Strain the liquid, which is what you drink and discard the beans.
5. Allow to cool, then gulp down 1/2 litre of the broth. For a start gulp down all the remaining broth within one or two hours.

By the time you finished the broth you will be amazed how effective it is in relieving the gout pain and inflammation.

Happy Gulping!!!

So how much do you drink bbb every time when you have gout pain? Is it 1 and a half liter or 2 liters or more than that? I’m having gout pain at the moment on my left leg. My left foot is also swollen a lot. I’ve prepared some bbb according to your cooking suggestion. But I don’t know how much I should drink every time (morning, noon or night time) & also how many times until I get rid of the pain and swollenness. Please advise me regarding this. I appreciate it.

I’m taking Indomethacin – 2 capsules (50mg) after breakfast and also after dinner but it’s not helping at all. I’m also having half of Allopurinol tablet (150mg) at the moment after dinner.

I have always been told you are *not* supposed to take Allopurinol while you are having a gout attack. Allopurinol only worsens the attack, and hence the pain.

As for BBB,

Thanks for the recipe, OP, thak yo for the recipe.

I've heard of BBB for gout for years and it must work since so many talk about it, but to put some logic to it, why does it work?

Yeah I'm wondering the same thang also. I thought we were supposed to stay away from all bean related products, but what makes black beans so special. Would eating the bean achieve the same effect as drinking the broth?

Green Toe - I went digging around and this is what I found on a post somewhere;

" A close look at the black bean broth shows that the black color is really a dark red. Yes, black beans contain anthocyanins, that group of pigments which range in color from blue to red to almost black. In an emergency, you throw a cup of black beans in a pot of water and boil it and as soon as the water color turns dark, you can get some broth, cool it and drink it. This remedy takes only a few hours to eliminate the crystals from the joints, but the damage to the joints may take up to two days to heal. It is good to prepare some of this amazing healing remedy and freeze it in case of a sudden gout attack.

P.S. I never heard of it before living here. I assume that it is due to anthocyanins. (The red color seems to support that idea.) But, boy, it really works. While I am waiting for it to take effect, I just began using 55% DMSO topically to take away the pain, which helps a bit. But, with black bean broth, it really removes the uric acid from the blood in about 2 to 4 hours."

This actually makes sense to me because I finally got relief from gout from a high antioxidant product - anthocyanins are part of the whole family tree of the antioxidant world and especially flavonoids are really good anti-inflammatory.

So, there must be something to it! Too bad I don't get gout anymore so I could try it!
