gout now every 6 weeks

thanks for setting up this site, i have this condition and it seems to appear every 6 weeks sometimes a slight tingle, i will then not touch any booze especially the real ales, then it will come back with vengeance! i have calchoniel tablets and i do take them when pain becomes severe, but my chemist did not recommend the stated dose of 4 times daily, i found that when my feet become wet when gardening and walking that gout follows but sad to say have yet found no cures although vinegar may have kept it off, but cannot guarantee. any help is welcome!

Hi there. If you are getting gout on a regular basis then you probably have ongoing hyperuricemia, which is high uric acid levels in the blood. When this happens the uric acid crystallises and these crystals deposit into your joints. Eventually your body reacts and that is what a gout attack is. As long as you have the high uric acid levels you will keep getting gout attacks.

The bad news is the attacks can actually start to become more frequent and more painful, and eventually one gout attack just rolls into the next one. I had that in my ankles for months and months. Not fun at all!

So my advice is to be careful not to treat this too lightly. I did and paid the consequences. And even though it's been over a year since my last attack I still have really stiff ankles and toes. Doctor reckons they'll be like that forever now. :(

I too have suffered from gout in the past. Since drinking JUS antioxidant I have not had a gout attack in almost three years.
