Just a question, can gout affect the tip of your big toe? I am not talking about where there are joints, but the actual very tip of the toe. I have very mild localised pain when I apply pressure to the tip of my big toe , the very end part of the big toe's bone (well the meat covering the bone I mean) is tender and I was wondering if that was gout?

TIA

It's always in the joint for me.

Thanks.

I have been reading as much as I can, and from what I can tell there is no where for the crystals to deposit at the tip. But I am no Doctor...

Last attack for me, before gout set in my knee all my muscles ached in my legs and I hurt in my spine. I woke up the next morning with my knee all swelled up.

Would that be because the body is going into fighting mode? Everytime I have a fever or and infection , the muscles in some parts of my body hurt, then I get the full blown fever. I have not been diagnosed with gout, but I have had high uric acid 8.1-7.3 for a month now(it has come done to 7.3 of late and still droping by the looks of it. (I don't know why it went up)

The pain I had was when I pressed up against the meat it hurt, other than that no pain.

I don't think the pain will only be in the tip of your toe from gout. I can see the pain being in your joint and magnifying to the tip. But I'm not a doctor, but it took 4 different doctor's and a lot of pain for years before a doctor finally diagnosed me with gout.
