I have had gout for years, and tried just about everything without success.I reduced meat to, minimum once a week, stopped alcohol altogether.I was having LOTS of fruit and vegetables and my gout was worsening. Finally I have read something about Excessive fructose increasing uric acid.I experimented reducing my fruit intake to 2 a day, and bingo within days I saw a dramatic improvement.

That's really interesting. I personally have had no problem eating a lot of fruit. I do tend to stick to bananas mostly. I have the occasional orange and apple.
What fruit have you been eating?

Lately oranges and bananas, but through the year all the fruit you can imagine and in really large quantities. Some days I was eating fruit only. Now I am wiser.I used to thing if fruit is healthy, more fruit must be more healthy.

I eat 5/6 portions of fruit a day > apples , oranges and bananas, for lunch .
I also drink ACV daily , and have not had an attack for 18 months !!
No idea why not as i am still drinking alcohol at weekends .
Gout seems to come and go , I still cannot pinpoint the cause

It looks as though different things trigger gout for different people

Yeah - different things trigger gout, and different things help people get rid of gout too.
There are completely different schools of thought too about what it is in the diet that impacts your gout. Some claim it's the purines, but others say that's got nothing to do with it and it is the alkalinity of your diet that is the underlying issue.
You bet it's confusing!
