I have been taking allopirinial 300mg for the past three years after being diagnosed with gout. If I dont take my medication at the same time I very quickly start to feel a bout coming on but mainly it is under control. However, for about a month or so I have been getting pain on the sole of my foot, the one which is mainly effected by gout, so much so that walking is painful, and if i get up in the night, I can hardly walk on the foot because of the pain. Has anyone else got any experience similar to this, or could it be that having long term gout leads to other problems in the same area?

Yea;I've been on Allo 300mg for the last 3 months. Before that, I was constantly crippled. Now, I get occasional attacks, but can usually knock 'em out if I take Motrin,Naproxen, or Indocin the minute I feel the "twinge". I also get these shooting, stabbing pains, or tickling & restless feelings in my leg occasionally;I've heard it is the Allo breaking up the deposits. My Uric acid is only 5.1, so I don't understanbd why I am still getting attacks;mild as they are. Lately, been getting slight pain on bottom of left foot, not crippling;just enough to be annoying. Also--the Allos does not help with acute attacks;it's prolly more psychological in your case. I take mine at all different times every day;usuall withing a 2 to 3 hour span difference.

I just now got over the same pain in the sole of my right foot. that was a new one on me.. hurts really bad.. allo worked for me 10 years ago. now it has no effect.Indocen , coltra ..no help at all..not even urloric..

I have almost given up on modern medicine for "gout" as it just want go away. I'm on another dose of prednsome which knocks its out but does not cure it..my RA is 15 which is from what I can tell not an issue. I've dropped a lot of weight..no alcohol..eating gout healthy and yet when the preds where off in 2 weeks I will be back to swollen knees, feet.. I go to a specialist in July.. My uric acid levels are 3.9.. under 5 is normal...

I've done the black cherry extract..vinegar ..the whole natural deal..low uric acid but still dealing with it.. I told my GP that I'm to the point of of not even worrying that I may have something really bad I just want to KNOW.. anybody else dealing with this the way I am?? My whole life has been screwed up since November 2010. can't walk most of the time and you all know the pain.. both knees and ankles is brutal..
