Hi to all...another gouty here, and new to this forum.

I'm on 300mg allo and my first MAJOR attack was Feb 2010. A couple minor attacks along the way, but nothing to complain about now. Uric Acid is at 4.3 and has been since June 2010.

Question: A friend turned me on to antioxidant supplements, the kind where you pour powder into a bottle of water. Supposingly, there are 6 organic fruits and veggies in each serving, and a 16.9 fl. ounce bottle with the measured powder = 2 servings, which is what is recommended. I'm just wondering if anybody has an experience with these drinks, such as bringing on a gout attack? Broccoli is one of the veggies mentioned on the box, and I believe I read somewhere that broccoli is a no-no for gouties. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Everybody talks about and sells antioxidants but nobody talks about the oxidation caused by iron and molybdenum accumulation and copper and magnesium deficiency that also cause gout. This is why although people are born with the gout gene they usually develop gout in middle age, after decades of accumulating some metals and losing others.
Rather than taking a lot of antioxidants, it makes a lot more sense to eliminate the excess iron and molybdenum through blood donation.
